$20,000,000 Road Widening Project in Dare County, NC Awarded to Fred Smith Company
Starting in the spring of 2022, Fred Smith Company will be hard at work in Kitty Hawk, NC overlaying the existing road with new asphalt and adding 6-foot shoulders from the dead-end of Colington Road to US 158.
As one of the major access points to the Wright Brothers National Memorial, this area draws much pedestrian traffic. This project will allow locals and tourists to safely walk, run, and bike along the 4.5-mile stretch. We are excited to get this project underway and cannot wait to safely deliver excellence within this unique community.
